Graduation
Universities abroad have a degree format very similar with most courses lasting from 3 to 4 years. Some more specific areas, such as medicine and law, last longer and can take up to 6 years. There are public and private university options, however, for international students all universities are fee-paying. Scholarships are always available trough a direct contact from students to the universities. For undergraduate programs, scholarships are more difficult to obtain. In general is offered for high-performance athletes or individuals with special talents.
Prerequisites
In order to do a Bachelor Program, you must have an advanced level of the abroad language, proven by a proficiency exam. The type of exam and grade will depend on the university criteria. For students who have finished high school and have not yet started a university, it is necessary to do a pre-university study program, which can last from 6 months to 1 year, known as the Foundation Year.
Areas of study
There is a wide range of degree courses, from the more traditional areas such as Business Management, Law, IT, Engineering, Architecture, Medicine or Dentistry, to more specific courses such as Nanotechnology, Creative Arts, Sports Management, Aviation, among others.
Transfer courses abroad
It is also possible to transfer courses to a university abroad, in which case any recognition of prior learning is subject to analysis. The majority of subjects can usually be taken, ranging from 50% to 80%, but for a more accurate assessment it will always be necessary to submit academic transcripts to the universities. Another existing undergraduate program is the Study Abroad Program, where students complete just one semester of their degree abroad.
